The Farm Progress Show

On August 31, Mr. Nick’s Ag-Science class and the FFA students went to Boone, Iowa, for the Farm Progress Show. We all had a great time at the show and would go again in a heartbeat if we could.

In all, sixteen students from the H-LP school district went to the Farm Progress Show. Overall, there were about 80 students from multiple schools that went down to Boone with us. The schools included West Lyon, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Rock Valley, Hull, MOC, George Little Rock, and Harris- Lake Park. There were only two buses, so everyone was jammed packed in their comfy seat for the long ride.

There were so many cool exhibits at the Farm Progress Show that I don’t think everyone visited them all.

“Going to the show was a lot better than sitting in a classroom at school,” said Dalton Nicks. At the show, there was an autonomous, self-driving, tractor that was worth over 1.4 million dollars!

Mr. Nicks loves getting the students the hands on experience they need in life, and this is one of his favorite ways of doing so. He is planning on going to more trips like this one in the near future.

Overall, the students who went to this event enjoyed it a lot. Everything went great and according to plan. The buses themselves were great, even if we were stuck in them for a total of six hours. “These seats are really comfortable,” said Nate Davis on the long way back home.

Next year, we’re all hoping to be able to go again to such an amazing event! It was a blast.
